Arch-Door manufactures and installs bespoke arched, curved and architectural doors across the United Kingdom. From single front doors for period homes to full doorset packages for new-build developments — engineered in our Birmingham workshop, fitted by our teams. Free no-obligation quote in 24 hours.
Standard-sized doors don't suit period properties, architect-led extensions, listed buildings or one-off commercial fit-outs. We start every door from the opening, the building and your brief.
Every door is built in our Birmingham workshop. Nothing is imported pre-made or rebadged.
Built to your opening, your finish, your brief. Standard sizes are the exception, not the rule.

Explore →Pricing depends on size, material, finish and security or fire rating. For a clean reference point: a bespoke arched or architectural front door supplied and installed typically falls in the range below.
For a standard residential bespoke arched front door, supplied and installed. Larger doorsets, premium hardwoods, stained glass or PAS 24 security upgrades sit higher.
Get a Quote for Your Project →European oak sits around the entry point. Sapele, accoya and walnut increase cost, with engineered cores adding stability across the range.
A simple round-top arch is straightforward. Ogee, gothic, segmental and Tudor arches need more workshop time and template work.
Bevelled, leaded or stained glass lifts the figure. Solid-brass or hand-forged ironmongery adds craft cost but lifts the door significantly.
The right material depends on the property, the opening and the result you're after. Most of our work is solid timber or engineered timber, but we also produce composite, aluminium and steel-framed architectural doors.
Our signature product. Solid European oak, sapele, accoya, idigbo, walnut or ash, traditionally jointed and engineered for British weather. Hardwood is the right answer when the property warrants it — period homes, listed buildings, high-end residential entrances. Finish in microporous paint, stain, oil or factory spray.
Where a solid-timber look is wanted without the dimensional movement, engineered cores wrapped in solid hardwood lippings give the best of both. These are particularly suited to oversized openings, bi-fold and sliding configurations where movement under temperature swings would otherwise be a problem.
GRP-skinned, foam-core composite arched doors deliver hardwood looks with virtually zero maintenance. Secured-by-Design certified, U-values from 0.8 W/m²K, twenty-plus colour and woodgrain options. The right answer for a busy modern home that wants the arched aesthetic without the upkeep schedule.
For contemporary commercial and residential entrances where slim sightlines and large glass are the priority. Aluminium handles modern architecture extremely well; steel-framed arched doors deliver an industrial-loft aesthetic and exceptional dimensional stability for very large openings.
An economical option for openings where the budget calls for it. UPVC handles weather well and is virtually maintenance-free, though the aesthetic ceiling is lower than timber. Best suited to back doors, garages and outbuildings on heritage properties — or as primary doors on modern builds.
The difference between an off-the-shelf doorset and a bespoke architectural door isn't only aesthetic — though that alone often justifies the investment.
An arched or architectural front door is usually the single biggest visual upgrade you can make to a property frontage. It's the first thing a visitor (or buyer) sees.
Estate agents consistently report that a well-judged bespoke front door pays back many times its cost on resale — particularly on period properties where a standard door looks out of place.
Modern engineered doorsets reach U-values of 0.8-1.2 W/m²K. Combined with proper seals and a thermally broken threshold, a bespoke door easily outperforms a 20-year-old original.
PAS 24:2022 certification is available on every external doorset. Anti-snap cylinders, hookbolt multi-point locking, reinforced frames and hinge bolts as standard.
Heritage and listed-building work requires doors that satisfy conservation officers. We work to original mouldings, glass patterns and ironmongery — and support consent applications.
Trends move; architectural doors don't. A well-proportioned arched or panelled door looks correct against any building, in any decade, with no aesthetic obsolescence.
Stylish design, weather resistance, thermal insulation and acoustic performance — engineered to deliver timeless kerb appeal with virtually zero maintenance.
Strong & durable, weather resistant, thermal insulation, sound proof — five signature configurations to choose from.
100% uPVC build, energy efficient, UV & fade resistant, custom-made to perfection. Low maintenance, long lasting, eco-friendly.
Every door is the result of a six-stage process designed to eliminate surprises on installation day.
We start with a conversation about your property, the look you want, and any planning or conservation considerations.
Our team measures every opening to the millimetre. For arched and curved doors we take physical templates.
We produce CAD drawings or hand sketches for sign-off. Material samples and finish swatches sent on request.
Doors are built in our UK workshop using engineered cores and traditional joinery techniques.
Factory-applied paint, stain, oil or microporous finishes. Every door inspected before it leaves the workshop.
Our fitting teams install nationwide. Backed by our manufacturing warranty and aftercare support.
A well-built bespoke door is engineered to last decades. The maintenance schedule is minimal but worth following:
An architectural door is any door that is designed and built for a specific opening, building and brief — rather than picked from a standard catalogue. The defining feature isn't usually the geometry (though arched and curved are common); it's that the door is conceived as part of the architecture of the building, not a commodity fitted into it.
In practice, that covers a wide ground: arched and curved doors for period properties; oversized doors for modern architect-led extensions; matched doorset packages for new-build developments; conservation-grade replications for listed buildings; bespoke entrance doors for high-end residential and commercial projects.
The reason this distinction matters is that off-the-shelf doors are made to suit the broadest possible set of openings — which means they often suit no opening especially well. An architectural door starts at the opposite end: one opening, one brief, one door.
At Arch-Door this is the only kind of door we make. We don't operate a stock catalogue; we operate a workshop.
A selection of feedback from homeowners, architects and developers we've worked with across the UK.
"The arched front door has completely transformed the front elevation of our Edwardian semi. Survey, manufacture and install all handled by Arch-Door — and the joinery is genuinely museum-grade. Worth every penny."
"We specified Arch-Door for a multi-unit residential development. Forty-eight doorsets, all delivered to programme. Co-ordination with our site team was excellent — not one delivery missed."
"Restoring a Grade II listed manor house meant a near-impossible brief on the front door: original profile, original ironmongery patterns, modern security and thermal performance. They delivered on all four."
"As an architect, I'm cautious about which joinery firms I recommend. Arch-Door's CAD literacy, finish quality and willingness to engage with detail set them apart. They are now our default specification for bespoke doorsets."
"Our bi-fold installation was on a tight timeline before a summer event. Survey to fit in five weeks, finished beautifully. The seal between the leaves is genuinely tight — no rattle, no draught."
"Fire doors for an HMO refurbishment. Certified, signed off by building control on first inspection. Pricing was below the two larger firms we approached and the service was significantly more personal."
